Yin Yoga is a style of yoga gaining more and more recognition for its relevance worldwide. It is a meditative practice that safely stresses the connective tissue of the body, leading to greater range of motion and flexibility, less pain and stiffness from overuse and injury, and increased mindfulness, patience, and acceptance. Yin is a quiet, slow and grounded practice that balances the extremes our bodies go through in life: from "yang"/active yoga practices to stiffness from injury and immobility, overuse issues, chronic stress and more. It brings health to the dense tissues of the body – the joints, bones, and fascia as well as to the nervous system. In essence, it is essential for a balanced practice and optimum mobility.

This program will draw you deeper into the empowering practice of Yin yoga in a way that is safe, accessible, and purposeful. You will learn techniques to safely practice and lead others with intelligent and therapeutic sequencing for the feet, legs, hips, spine, shoulders, hands, and skull.

Yin Yoga is highly effective and the demand for quality Yin Yoga teachers is on the rise.

Learn from an experienced teacher and professional dancer who used Yin Yoga to assist in the healing of the severe hyper extension of her entire spine.

You will gain:

-Insight into the practice of Yin Yoga

-Knowledge of the anatomy of fascia

-Deepen your understanding of chronic pain

-Learn to safely instruct others in Yin Yoga
-Refinement in the art of Yin sequencing and methodology
-Techniques for holding a “yin” space energetically to assist in guiding your students to a place of deep release and healingu
-Detailed instruction on 13 core poses and up to 17 additional modifications and counter poses
-Additional techniques for the fascia of the hands, feet, and skull
-Earn 20 CEUs with the Yoga Alliance

Ever heard the term "bandha" in your yoga class but are unsure of what that means or how to apply them? Or maybe you are a teacher who wants to expand your tools for teaching about the bandhas safely and effectively. In this class we will keep it simple and clear. We will begin by discussing the theory and philosophy of bandhas and pranas, including their correlating physical and energetic anatomy. Then we move into exploring the bandhas through simple exercises. With this awareness we will practice asana and pranayama, deepening our understanding
while unlocking some of the keys to strength, posture, balance, breath control, and energetic transformation.

This is a more in depth version of this material than I usually present, so even if you have joined me in the past, come on back - you will learn new material while refining what you already know!
Please notify the instructor if you are pregnant as some of the exercises are not recommended for pregnancy.
